Finally!

She really had no choice....Baccalaureate was Sunday evening! I made her put her gown on to make sure it looked OK.....ha, while she had it on I might as well snap a couple. She just loves her Momma!! Anyway, here she is in gown. I will be taking more at Graduation on Thursday night so hopefully they will include cap pictures also.

Sara's car....

Well, it "broke"!! That's ok....she was ready for something new anyway! This one fits her quite nicely. It should be much more reliable...which is great considering she's moving away from home! For the record....getting these pics was like pulling teeth! As a matter of fact, I have been bugging her to put her cap and gown on so I can take pictures of her.....has not happened yet!! I'm thinking a "threat" is soon coming! ;)

Goofy kids!

They have been bugging us for weeks now....."when can we go swimming"? I pulled this little wading pool out last week and put some water in it. At first they weren't thrilled...they wanted in the big pool! It didn't take them long to decide something was better than nothing. I love the look on Wyatt's face as he comes off the slide! Then, of course Miss Em has to be her usual "take a picture of me, Momma"! Oh yeah, she's a mess!

T-Ball is over for the spring season...

Here are a couple of pictures to end the season with.

I thought this was a neat picture. Obviously, he is about to hit the ball.

Notice the bat coming up from his left leg.....he caught on quick to come at the ball from below. At the end of the season, he could get more of a "fly ball" that way. He really improved so much during the season!

Daddy was usually the third base coach. Here, he had obviously sent his boy on home! Wyatt never hit a home run, but when he scored, he would come running into the dugout all excited that he had scored a "home run"!! We knew what he meant!

Just an update....

Ok, so I'm not always so good about updating!

The end of school is almost here.....and none to soon!! Sara is soooo ready to be finished! She has her cap and gown, her announcements have been mailed and she has only 6 days left. I'm excited for her, but a little sad for myself! She will, after all, be leaving home soon after graduation. We sent graduation party invites, but if you didn't get one and would like to come celebrate with us please feel free! The party will be Saturday, June 2 starting at 1 o'clock. Just give me a call or send an email to let us know you will be coming. Wyatt absolutely loves school, but even he is ready for it to be over! We are all ready to spend a fun summer in the pool, going to Six Flags and just relaxing.

Hope everyone is having a fun, relaxing spring!! Leave me a comment to let me know you have been here!

Here are a few pictures....enjoy.

Some birthday pictures

Wyatt turned 6 earlier this month.....hard for momma to believe! He couldn't wait to turn six and now he's talking about turning 7. We just did our usual......momma baked him a chocolate cake, he opened what gifts were left to open and we sang Happy Birthday. He got his gift from Granny and PawPaw a couple of weeks before his birthday....2 NASCAR car pillows. I could tell a funny, funny story about when he opened them, but it was one of those "you had to be there" sort of stories. A quick, typed up version......He has several drivers that he likes/keeps up with during a race. Kasey Kahne is one of them.....Jeff Gordon is not. Well, he opened a box that had pillows in the shape of these 2 drivers' cars. He pulled the Kasey pillow out saying AWESOME!!! Granny ask him about the one he left in the box.....the look on his face said it all as he said "I don't want that one"!! He wasn't being purposefully rude....and all that were there knew that, but momma still had a talk with him about being appreciative when receiving a gift! We also talked about how just because he isn't his favorite driver, doesn't mean he can't play and have fun with the pillow. He now plays with and crashes both equally!! The weekend before his birthday, he got a card with cash in it from Grandma and Grandad. He bought his batting helmet and equipment bag with that. Momma and Daddy got him his bat and he got a Texas Rangers shirt and some extra balls with money from Uncle Todd & Aunt Kerri and Uncle Paul & Aunt Carol. When all was said and done, he had a great 6th birthday!!!

Whoa!!

It's snowing.....in Texas....in APRIL!!!! This is crazy, weird and COLD!!! It was 84 degrees on Tuesday and then a front came through bringing with it thunderstorms, hail and a tornado.....and the temps have been falling since. I'm just glad Wyatt is not playing soccer....we would be sitting out in the cold wind watching a game right now. We have very few t-ball games on Saturday.

Other than the crazy weather, things are good here. Trying to keep up with mowing between flooding rain events and going to t-ball games, it seems we get nothing else done. The kids are good. Sara is really liking her new job...and making darn good tip money! She is getting ready for prom next weekend. Hopefully I will get some good pictures to post. Wyatt is really enjoying playing ball. His coach puts the emphasis on learning the game and having a good time at it. He will move up to coach pitch in the fall....that should be interesting. Emily is the same.....capturing every moving thing she possibly can in hopes of sneaking them into my house!!!

Here are a few pictures I have taken recently. I took some at Wyatt's game the other night, I will get those posted soon...along with his birthday pictures. He turned six this past Wednesday!

March camping trip

These are just a few pictures from our camping trip last weekend. We had such a good time. The weather was perfect....well, aside from being a little chilly on Saturday morning and a little wind in the afternoon. We are hoping to go back to the same place in the next couple of weeks. There are bluebonnet plants everywhere out there and when they start popping, it will be beautiful!! The kids had a great time "exploring" on Sunday morning while we were packing up. We found an old rock chimney that I took some pictures of. A nice digging spot.
Bringing in the "heavy" equipment.
Gathering some small stuff for the fire.
She'd been chasing a butterfly.
A look at the Brazos.
The old chimney we found.
Just a few Bluebonnets have popped.
Still digging.
What's up, Bubba?

Isn't she cute with daddy's do-rag?

Spring has sprung.....

And the kids are having a blast! They would be outdoors from sun up to sun down if I let them. Wow, it has been a while since I have made any updates anywhere....so where do I begin?

We don't see much of Brandie, so I will start with her! She has a new job!! YAY!! Let's see if I can get this right.....correct me if I'm wrong, Brandie. She is going to be doing P.R. work for an Environmental Services company. Congrats again, kiddo!!!!

Sara has a new job too! She starts work tomorrow, at a steakhouse not far from home, as a waitress. This place is always packed, so the potential for good tip money is great! She seems pretty excited about starting. She turned 18 last week....I can't believe it, she has grown up so fast. She will be graduating at the end of May. It is looking like she will be moving south and getting an apartment with her sister. I am so excited for them....and maybe a little sad for me. At least they will not be too far away!! She also has a new pet. We have baby bunnies born in our yard every spring. This year it seemed that one got left behind when it's siblings moved on. We were able to catch her very easily. Sara latched onto her so Jeff told her she could keep her, but she was hers to take care of. We went and got her a cage and all the things she needed to get started. Now , when Sara is home, that silly bunny is with her! She loves to snuggle down in the pocket of her robe.Sara alway wants cheesecake for her birthday.
This is Thumper.
Wyatt had a great time playing basketball. His team lost only one game which put them in first place for the season. We were very happy with this first sporting experience and more than thrilled with his coaches. He ended up improving his game much more than I expected him too and he can really shoot that ball. Now we are on to T-ball. He and daddy have been playing catch in anticipation and it has obviously payed off. Some of the other boys on his team have played before, but he shows little sign of being behind them. He's a right handed kid, but he bats left handed.....I've been assured this is a good thing! He can really wack that ball too. Aside from sports, he is also doing great in school. He is very excited about being a first grader next year. He is reading very well, starting some simple math, learning to count money and would like to tell time.Playing basketball.
1st place trophy!
Emily.....wow, where do I begin?? Last night, she informed me that she found a snake. I explained that she should not mess with the snakes! (we have little brown snakes around here all the time) She acted a little funny about that and then I noticed that she had brought several lady bugs into the house with her. I ask her where the snake was.....she looked over at her baby doll swing! I asked her if she brought the snake in, she nodded yes and then very quickly said "maybe I didn't". I explained that she would not be in trouble(I just wanted to know where the damn snake was!!!!!), but that if she brought the snake in we needed to find it! She then started insisting that she did not bring it in the house and took me outside to show me where it was. Of course I didn't see it, but I have not seen one in the house either......*huge sigh*....not so much from relief, just because this is my Emily. She loves bugs, spiders, snakes...you name it, if it comes from the outdoors, she loves it! Some days I wonder if I will survive this one!
She found a frog burrowed in a hole a couple of weeks ago....she had to settle with petting him since momma said she couldn't bring him in and keep him!
Ok, enough for now. I have a house to clean and laundry to do. I will have to make some more time to post again soon though. We went on a camping trip this past weekend and had so much fun.

Let me know what you think about this site. Better or worse....I want to know what you all think!
