Yesterday was the last day of school!! We are so excited to have a break from bedtimes and early wake ups....and to have the kids home with ME! I have been up to school quite a bit in the past couple of weeks. Em had a splash day, Wyatt had a field day and they both had awards and end of year parties this week. I didn't get great pictures, but I'll post a couple of them anyway.
Ok, something is up with blogger....it's not letting me upload pictures. I'll give up for now and try again tomorrow.
Welcome!! I blog about me and mine to update friends and family about us and ours. Second Time Around? Well, that's where I am. I'm on my second run at attempting this Momma thing. Brandie and Sara are grown and gone. Now I'm trying really hard to *NOT* totally screw up with Wyatt and Emily. So, read along and please, leave me a comment while you're here!!

Some pictures from May
Emily had another dance recital/tumbling performance.

One of her friends in tumbling is also in her class at school and a new friend that she made in dance class will be going to her school next year.
We took the kids to the river for a weekend camping trip. On Saturday we took a drive and found "Big Rocks Park". The kids had a blast climbing the rocks and wading in the river. I found a few re

Look Momma, no training wheels!!
Emily needed her seat height adjusted and training wheels tightened. When I finished that, she hoped on and took off. As I was watching her, I realized that her training wheels were not even touching the ground. Jeff said I should just take them off. I called her over and told her she should learn to ride without them and she could ask Santa for a new "big girl" bike for Christmas this year. So she ask if I could just take them off now! I did....and she took off! There was no hesitation, no whining....and NO wrecking. (we experienced all of the above plus some with the boy!!) She just took off. Within about 30 minutes she was taking off on her own without me holding on to get her started and she was making the turn to come back to where she started. She is growing up so fast.

Quick catch-up
We've had a busy spring! Now that I have my computer back I can post a few pictures. Let's see...
I don't often get them all 4 together to get a picture
like this anymore!
In March the kids and I headed south for a few days to visit Sissy, Sara, Granny & Pawpaw and to celebrate Sara's birthday. She wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory....great idea Sara, it was VERY yummy!! We took the kids camping during their spring break. Although we had to adjust our plans due to spring storms, we had a great time! We also celebrated Wyatt's birthday...he turned 7 on April 4th. We've had 2 or 3 baseball games every week since late March and dance class for Em every Thursday evening. To add to the craziness, we have had several doctor visits also. Wyatt has had several ear infections since last fall and it seems that we will be taking him in to have tubes put in his ears at the end of the summer. The kids school had a family night on Earth day. They planted trees during school that day, then grilled hot dogs and had kites for the kids to fly that evening. It was a lot of fun....and quite a site with all those kites flying, but I goofed and forgot my camera that night! Last week I went with Wyatt's class on a field trip to Texas Motor Speedway. We had a great time, but I don't plan on making another lap around that track......ever!!! I will just continue to enjoy watching the racing from my seat at the track or on
TV.

Here are some camping pictures and one of Wyatt playing catcher.

Back on MY computer!
I have lots of things I could update about....but this is all about Emily!! She performed her dance routines they have been learning in class on stage tonight. They were all so cute! I think Em did a great job....just like Sara, there was absolutely NO stage fright!
These are some pictures from her ballet routine....they danced to "Winnie the Pooh"

Busy?
Isn't that a good excuse for not getting back in here to post like I thought I might do a week ago? Good excuse or not...it's mine!!
Ok so, to catch you up on the happenings of us and ours......
Emily is still loving her dance class...very, very much. And if I do say so (being a proud momma!), she is doing quite well! When I can post pictures again, I will include some from a couple of classes that parents were invited to take a peek. Along with dance, we have signed her up for a tumbling class also. So she goes from having her feet on the floor dancing to feet in the air for a head/hand stand! She's having a great time.
Wyatt is well into baseball season. For 3 weeks we had 3 or 4 practices a week. This past week games started. So far his team has won a game, tied against an all-star team and lost a game. He is on a very competative team (even if a bit young in comparision to some other coach pitch teams) this season....a rather new concept for us. I'm still trying to decide if I like this competative mindset at his age?! I mean, I would love for him to be on a "winning" team. I just don't want him thinking the most important thing in life is winning his baseball game! We consider him pretty much "average" as far as his ball skills go. He plays catch with daddy and pratices batting off his tee. I guess we will continue to see improvement in his game as long as he continues to enjoy playing.
I just looked at the clock! I have errands to run. I'll post more later.....not sure how much later though!

Long time no blog!
And I can't post any pictures now. I am on a borrowed computer. Ours has pretty much bitten the dust. I can at least post updates on this one though....and we have been busy. I have a turkey in the oven and need to finish getting the rest of the meal ready to put on the table. I will try to post more later today, I just wanted to get a quick note on here for now. Hope you all have a beautiful Easter Sunday!! Love to all.

Our little dancer
Emily is loving her dance class! I didn't let her go last week because she had been sick. You would have thought the world was ending! She was soooo mad at me! Tomorrow night it the last night in this session so parents are invited to see them dance. Next session she wants to do the tumbling class that follows dance.....that will start next Thursday. Seems daddy will be taking Wyatt to baseball practice/games and Em and I will be going to dance/tumbling class.

She likes to draw and paint to. This one was taken a few weeks ago. She got an easel for Christmas.

Basketball is over for this season
Wyatt did a great job. I think he is going to make a great little defensive player!
Baseball is next....we've already signed up. Teams will be picked next week and we should hear from his coach and start practice early in March.
Here are some pictures I took at a game a couple of weeks ago.

Spelling Bee
Today was the first grade spelling bee. Wyatt has been studying his words really hard, especially the past several days. He did great! I was so proud of him!! He made it to round 5. They started with 24 (very nervous) little first graders on stage. At the beginning of round 5 there were 10 kids left. Wyatt got the first word in round 5....AIRPLANE. He had some difficulty with this word when he first started practicing, but the last few times I have drilled him, he had spelled it correctly. Today, he left the "E" off the end. He was disappointed, but he handled it ok.
Before school this morning

The birthday girl
She got her chocolate cake with chocolate icing.....and LOTS of sprinkles! The weather was beautiful, although very windy, all weekend. We made it to the park for a little while on Sunday. I think she had a good fifth birthday....even if it was spread out a bit! She got gifts from Granny & Paw Paw and Sissy when we were down there for Christmas. Then we pretty much spread her birthday out over the entire weekend....happy birthday wishes on Friday, cake on Saturday, going to the park and spending birthday money from Grandma and Grandad on Sunday and finally getting some new boots from Momma and Daddy on Monday! Here are a few pictures.....
The beaters may have been the best part
We didn't have birthday hats, but New Years hats work just as well!

My baby is FIVE!!!!
I'm not sure where the past five years have gone?! She is stubborn, bullheaded, opinionated and very determined....but when she is being sweet, she is very, very sweet!! We are going to have her cake tomorrow. She has requested that "we" make it....meaning her little hands will be right in the big middle of things. She also wants to go to the park, so lets hope the weather man is correct in his mid 70's prediction! I will post pictures from the weekend as soon as I can.

Parade pictures
The New Years parade in Dallas was yesterday. We drove a Longhorn Dodge truck and pulled a float. It was a very long, all day affair.....but I had a great time! If we get the chance to do it again, we know some things we will do differently! Anyway, these pictures were taken with my new camera.
Emmit Smith was the Grand Marshall
the local Fox station was a main sponsor

of course, being in Dallas there was a Cowboys float
lots and lots and lots of people!
the float we pulled and a picture of Wyatt on it after the parade

the parade ended up at the American Airlines Center...this is were the Mavs and the Stars play
